5: The Nation's Economy
Title  
Current Event
Objective  
Students will be kept up to date of current economic events.
Resources  
Pre recorded news cast from either CNN, Fox News, CNBC, ABC, NBC, or any other relevant newscast. A variety of news programs will be shown to give the students a broad range of experiences.
Activity  
Students will watch a newscast from the previous day. They will write down the headlines which relate to economics and give a brief explanation of the story. Students will have time to ask about current events they don't understand and debate the merits of their points of view on these stories.
Evaluation  
Students will turn in their completed sheet of events with descriptions. Their participation in the debate will also be evaluated.
